Clare Schilling was awarded Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Imperial College School of Medicine followed by Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Kings College London.
It was during her undergraduate training that she became interested in research, authoring the multinational SENT trial investigating sentinel node biopsy (SNB) in oral cancer. Clare subsequently completed a PhD looking at novel techniques for SNB in the head and neck and has helped to set up a national training program for SNB in the UK.
Her research been recognised through prizes awarded by the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the British Nuclear Medicine Society and the British Association of Surgical Oncologists.
She has recently completed a Clinical Trials Fellowship with the National Cancer Research Institute and a Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery at St Georges’
Hospital, London.
She has been appointed as Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (Head and Neck) at University College Hospital, London.
